The control of the quality of water for human consumption is the set of activities carried out regularly by the person in charge of the system or by collective alternative solution of water supply, to verify if the water supplied to the population is potable, so as to ensure the maintenance of this condition. And, "it is the responsibility of the National Health Foundation (FUNASA) to support actions to control the quality of water for human consumption from a system or alternative solution for the supply of water for human consumption, within its scope of action, according to the criteria and parameters.
